The group's principal activities are to manufacture, supply and distribute a broad range of railroad products, including rail joints, rail anchors, rail spikes and railway friction management products. It also manufactures material handling equipment. The group operates through four business units. The railway maintenance products division provides track components and friction management products and services to railroads, transit systems and railroad contractors. The shipping systems division, designs and sells load securement systems to the railroad industry. The Canadian operation produces rail anchors and spikes primarily for the Canadian railroads with some products exported to the United States and other international customers. The United Kingdom operation produces railway lubrication products at wrexam, wales's location. The group acquired salient systems, inc on Jul 20, 2004.
